Fans responded to Sean O’Malley’s tweet with mixed reactions. @AnthonyP3777 claimed that the bantamweight contender wasn’t Jon Jones, whose only loss came via a questionable disqualification in a bout that likely should have been stopped:

“You’re not Jon Jones stop it , 16-1”

@big_shat66 accused O’Malley of being insecure, saying:

“Maybe you’re completely controlling and I’m falling for the bait rn but can you stop saying you’re undefeated. You aren’t undefeated, you got finished. Btw there’s nothing wrong with having a loss on your record but you seem so insecure about. Even the best have lost. It happens”

@naoya_szn claimed that O’Malley would get the best of both fighters who competed in the main event of UFC San Antonio:

“you do him dirty in a rematch, same with cory.”

Meanwhile, @BoxingZone55 advised ‘Sugar’ to move on:

“You lost move on”

@Daniellopez122a claimed O’Malley is better than the only fighter who has beaten him, while also taking a shot at Vera:

“O’malley>>>>>>>>> CHIT’ vera”

@tedjtgzek suggested that the No.2-ranked bantamweight has two losses, likely referring to his controversial victory over Petr Yan at UFC 280:

“15-2”

@ElonPumpAndDump seemingly agreed:

“Chito literally beat you and petr was close but stil beat you and you think you deserve title fight”

What did Sean O’Malley say about Cory Sandhagen’s dominance of Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera?

Cory Sandhagen was able to defeat Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera in one of the more dominant split decisions that fans will see in a five-round bout.

Sean O’Malley weighed in on the main event of UFC San Antonio, stating:

“I think Cory just outclassed him… I don’t think anything was wrong with ‘Chito’. I think Cory’s that f**king good, and that style beats ‘Chito’. ‘Chito’ is not very fast, he’s f**king super good, super durable, well rounded everywhere. Cory was focused for 25 minutes, did what he needed to do. Wrestled more than I thought he would.”

O’Malley questioned Vera’s game plan, claiming that he believed ‘Chito’ was attempting to tire out his opponent in the first two rounds rather than winning the rounds. Despite the controversial scoring from the judges, Sandhagen was able to secure the victory to continue his rise in the bantamweight rankings.
