Patriots’ opponents 2023: Complete schedule for the New England Patriots’ next season

The Bill Belichick-coached New England Patriots, are one of the most storied franchises in the history of the National Football League. The Patriots enjoyed almost two decades of success during the Belichick and Tom Brady era when they regularly pummeled other teams into submission.

However, nothing has been the same for the Patriots since the turn of the decade. The Patriots lost Brady to free agency before the 2020 season, and they have only made the playoffs once since then.

The 2023 season offers renewed hope for Belichick and his team as they look to break the mold and push for a deep playoff run.

Do the New England Patriots have a chance of topping the AFC East?

Yes, because in football, everything is possible. On paper, the New England Patriots are competing with the Jets for the crown of the worst team in the AFC East.

There are the Buffalo Bills, who, despite losing a heartbreaking divisional-round game against the Cincinnati Bengals, are one of the most dangerous teams in football.

Then, there are the Miami Dolphins, a team with top 10 wide receivers in Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. The Dolphins might even get former New England Patriots QB Tom Brady in the offseason to make things spicier.

Last but not least are the New York Jets, a team that faced the wrath of the Brady-led Patriots over the years but are way stronger now. The Dolphins are a mere QB away from true contention, and they could be a problem this time next year.

As such, while the New England Patriots have a chance of claiming the AFC East crown, they will have to work their socks off to do so.

Who is the New England Patriots’ most important player for the 2023 season?

The Patriots have some decent pieces, but no player will get more attention than Mac Jones. The Patriots chose Jones in a quarterback-stacked 2021 draft, and he made the Pro Bowl in his first season. However, the former Alabama Crimson Tide player had a difficult sophomore season, dropping across all statistics.

Jones will have much to prove in 2023, which might be pivotal to his long-term future in New England.
